Cultural Perspectives on Sustainability

Cultural Perspectives on Sustainability is a panel discussion exploring indigenous cultures and their perspectives on equity, the economy and the environment.

Through the panel we intend to engage faculty and students in a dialogue regarding what Pratt can share and learn on a global platform regarding sustainability issues. The panel will be moderated by Gelvin Stevenson.


Gelvin StevensonGelvin Stevenson is Professor of Environmental Economics at the Pratt Institute and a member of the Cherokee Nation.

For over seven years, Gelvin wrote on economics and corporate finance at Business Week in addition to other publications.


Cultural Perspectives on Sustainability is coordinated by Pratt Institute’s graduate department of Urban Environmental Systems Management.
